Measure T Oversight Committee

The Measure T Oversight Committee is an independent committee established to serve in an advisory capacity to the city council for the purpose of providing independent advisory review of the proposed expenditure of revenues generated by the City’s transactions and use tax.

The committee shall advise the city council regarding the use of transactions and use tax revenue, according to the priorities set forth in each fiscal year adopted budget.  The duties of the committee shall include review of the City’s expenditure of revenues received from the one percent (1%) transactions and use tax imposed by Measure T, on an annual basis; act in an advisory capacity to the city council in all other policy matters pertaining to Measure T funds; and present an annual written report to the city council.

Currently, there is one (1) opening for a Measure T citizen member. Applications are being accepted for residents of District 3. The City Council District Boundary Map adopted March 15, 2022 may be found on our website https://www.cityofredlands.org/elections.

Measure T Application

Human Relations Commission

The Human Relations Commission was established to foster peaceful relations among persons of different races and national origins.  This commission serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council and to aid the City in achieving better human relations by providing assistance to all persons or groups in promoting good will and better relations among all people. 

The Human Relations Commission meets on the second Monday of odd-numbered months at 6:30 p.m.

Deadline for filing applications is February 7, 2023.

Airport Advisory Board

The Airport Advisory Board acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council in all matters pertaining to the administration, operation, development, improvement and maintenance of the Redlands Municipal Airport.

The Airport Advisory Board meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m.

Parks and Recreation Commission

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission recommends to the City Council policies for the acquisition, development, maintenance and improvement of parks, public trails and open space areas, and for the planting, care and removal of landscaping and amenities in all parks, public trails and open space areas.

In addition, this commission’s duties relating to recreation include; using the Commissioners’ skills, knowledge and experience to assist and advise the City Recreation Division staff; keeping the public informed about the city’s recreation program; serving as a forum for the promotion of activities for the Recreation Division and the City’s community center; and serving as a forum for resident’s suggestions, reactions, opinions, interests and needs regarding the City’s Recreation Division and its programs.

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission meets on the second Thursday of each month at 4:00 p.m.

Street Tree Committee

The Street Tree Committee shall be advisory to the City Council and shall recommend policies for the planting, care and removal of trees and shrubs in all parkways in the City.

The Street Tree Committee meets bi-monthly on the fourth Thursday of even- numbered months at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.

Traffic and Parking Commission

The Traffic and Parking Commission carries on educational activities in traffic matters, supervises the preparation and publication of traffic reports, receives complaints relating to traffic matters, and recommends to the City Council ways and means of improving traffic conditions and the administration and enforcement of traffic regulations.

This commission also advises the City Council on the development of adequate parking for commercial and retail uses, recommend policies to encourage, develop and support adequate parking within the City, recommend actions for the establishment of long-term parking plans for the City and, in particular, the Downtown Redlands Business Area, and advises the City Council in the administration of resources for the development of parking. 

The Traffic and Parking Commission meets bi-monthly on the fourth Thursday of odd-numbered months at 6:00 p.m.
