Sept. 10, 2018 – The City of Redlands invites individuals to
apply for positions on the Airport Advisory Board and the Human
Relations Commission. Members are appointed by the City Council.
Sept. 8, 2018 – Redlands Firefighters responded to a fire at a
single-family home in the 100 block of East Lugonia Avenue early
Saturday morning. No injuries were reported.
Sept. 6, 2018 – The City Council continues their popular Coffee
with the Council from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at
Olive Avenue Market, 530 W. Olive Ave. Council members Eddie
Tejeda and Toni Momberger will attend.
Aug.30, 2018 – September is National Preparedness Month and the
City of Redlands is taking the opportunity to encourage residents
to prepare for natural disasters and other emergencies and to
register for the City of Redlands Emergency Notification System.
Aug. 29, 2018 – The Redlands Police Department will conduct a
DUI/Driver License checkpoint from 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31,
through 1 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, in the southbound lanes of
Tennessee Street at Park Avenue.
May 30, 2018 – Last week, the City of Redlands was awarded the
Inland Empire Section of the American Planning Association’s
Comprehensive Plan Award for the City of Redlands 2035 General
Plan.
“Celebrating California’s Rancho Heritage” will be the theme at
the seventh annual Library Days at the A.K. Smiley Library in
Redlands from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19.
May 9, 2018 – In conjunction with the City of Redlands Movies in
the Park free screening of “Cars 3” on May 18, the University of
Redlands Alliance for Community Transformation and Wellness
will host the fourth annual “Out in the Open” community event.
May 9, 2018 – The Mexico Café, 892 E. Highland Ave, San
Bernardino, will host its third annual Dollars for Dogs
fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, with
proceeds going to support the Redlands Police Department K-9
Unit.
April 11, 2018 – A 17-year-old Highland boy was arrested early
Wednesday, April 11, for discharging a weapon at an inhabited
residence and making criminal threats after he fired a round from
a semi-automatic handgun at a home in the 1500 block of Columbia
Street.
April 4, 2018 – The City of Redlands invites individuals to apply
for positions on the Planning and the Historic and Scenic
Preservation commissions. Deadline for filing applications is
April 19. Members are appointed by the City Council.
April 3, 2018 – Drivers are using their cell phones less often
while driving, 10 years after “hands-free” became the law, but
distracted driving remains a serious safety challenge in
California. Observing April as Distracted Driving Awareness Month
and the first week in April as California Teen Safe Driving Week,
safety advocates will focus on education and enforcement efforts
statewide.
March 16, 2018 – In an effort to provide the community with
accurate information on reported school threats, the Redlands
Police Department, working in cooperation with the Redlands
Unified School District, will provide a central online
information hub to keep parents, students and the community
informed of the current investigation status of rumored threats
to Redlands schools.
March 6, 2018 – Redlands Police are warning consumers after the
manager of a 7-Eleven store discovered a pin pad card reader had
been fraudulently installed over the store’s legitimate pin pad.
March 1, 2018 – The second phase of construction and installation
of airport lighting and signage improvements began Wednesday,
Feb. 28 at the Redlands Airport, 1755 Sessums Drive. The current
phase will include refurbishment and conversion of remaining
lights and signage, upgrades to the pilot navigational aids, wind
socks and replacement of the airport beacon.
Feb. 28, 2018 – Another heavy winter storm is expected to hit the
Southern California region Thursday night, bringing heavy
rainfall through Friday with showers expected to continue through
Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
Precipitation is expected to be heaviest across the San
Bernardino County mountains with lesser amounts further south.
Feb. 21, 2018 – Riverside County Sheriff’s detectives on Tuesday
arrested a man suspected in a string of armed robberies,
including two earlier this month at fast food restaurants in
Redlands.
