Encroachment Permit Inspection Request

The inspection staff of the Municipal Utilities & Engineering Department is responsible for quality control on all public off-site improvements in the City of Redlands. Such improvements include curbs and gutters, sidewalks, street sections, street lights, traffic signals, storm drains, water lines and sewer lines. Other items inspected include private utility company excavations and trenches. 

All inspections are made pursuant to the issuance of an Encroachment Permit. Applicants must furnish the City all pertinent information, including USA ID number and Cal OSHA Number as applicable.
The inspection staff includes a Principle Construction Inspector and two Resident Construction Inspectors.
Contractors must notify the Inspection Office at least one full working day prior to any permit work. If the call is made after hours or if no inspectors are available, a voice mail message may be left. Please contact the inspection staff at (909) 798-7597.

No Inspections can take place and no work can be completed on city holidays.
