How do I obtain a kitchen compost pail?
Residents can obtain one kitchen compost pail by stopping by
Customer Service located at 35 Cajon Street, Suite 15A (where
City bills are paid) during the following days/hours:
- Wednesday: 8am – 11am, 2pm – 5pm
- Thursday: 8am – 11am, 2pm – 5pm
- Alternating Friday’s (matching City’s calendar): 8am – 11am,
2pm – 5pm
**Please note only one compost pail will be provided per
household. Proof of residency is required**
Residential Services
All refuse/trash, green waste, and recycling containers must be
placed for collection prior to 6:00 A.M. of your regular
collection day to avoid being missed. Collection occurs at any
time between 6:00 A.M. and 2:30 P.M. In rare instances,
collection may occur later in the day and could
potentially change from week to week.
Three different trucks will pass by your residence to collect
refuse/trash, yard waste, and recycling waste throughout the day.
A missed collection must be reported to our office within 24
hours of your regular collection day to receive a make-up
collection. Credits are not issued for missed collections that
are not reported.
Containers should be placed curbside at least 3 feet from any
obstacle, such as a parked car or fence, and at least 1 foot from
other containers.
Trash containers should be removed from streets as soon as
possible after the containers have been collected, and in any
event no later than ten o’clock.
GREEN Cart- Automated Green Waste Collection
A separate collection of your organic green waste materials is
required in the City. Place green waste (and soon to come food
waste) materials in the container marked YARD WASTE.
Beginning April 1, 2024, ALL food waste MUST be disposed of in
your green (yard) waste cart. Food waste will no longer be
permitted in your trash cart.
- Branches, leaves, sticks
- Grass clippings
- Flowers
- Weeds
- A small amount of sawdust
- ALL food waste
Use this bin for routine yard trimmings that generally grow back
each week.
UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS:
TRASH, DIRT, LUMBER, LARGE AMOUNTS OF SAWDUST,
ROCKS, STUMPS, PALM FRONDS, CACTUS, AND TREE LIMBS LARGER
THAN SIX INCHES IN DIAMETER.
As with all containers, green waste may never exceed the upper
perimeter of the container.
Contaminated containers will not be collected by the driver.
If contamination is found prior to collection, your container
will be tagged with a green tag by the driver and left. Once you
have removed the contaminates, you can request a special pickup
at an extra charge, or you may place your container out the
following week for regular collection.
Plastic lawn bags are a contaminate and should never be placed in
your green waste container
