Youth Tennis Lessons
Redlands Community Center
In an effort to promote social distancing, we have modify guidelines in our Youth Tennis program:
- Class size has been reduce to only 4 participants for each class
- Only one parent/guardian is allowed to accompany the child and must remain in the designated spectator area wearing a mask for the duration of the class
- Parent/Guardian and child must check in at the beginning of class and must pass a health screening questionnaire
- Participants are required to wear a mask while not engaged in practice
For Beginners to Advance Players
Our tennis lessons focuses on helping participants with stroke development, tennis terms and rules, physical exercises for balance and movement, and scoring and game tactics.
New students get an half hour introduction on first sign up at 5:30 p.m. the day of the class. After the intro the program starts with a 5 minute warm up exercise, followed by 10 stroke drills and ending with a 5 minute competition. Drills will cover forehand, back hand ground strokes and volleys, overheads, lobs and serves. For advanced students stroke combinations will be customized. Drill types will evolve from static starts to dynamic depending on students skill level.
