What is Hazardous Waste?

Household hazardous waste is any material or mixture of waste which is corrosive, combustible, poisonous, or reactive. It is harmful to humans, animals, and the environment.

Remember to always to store hazardous waste in their original containers. Buy only what you need, and use it up!

Saturday from – 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
(excluding holidays weekends and closed when raining)

Loads are limited to 15 gallons or 125 pounds maximum per visit in containers no larger than 5 gal. 

Place leaking containers in larger container or bag to contain leak while transporting.

Empty, dry containers can be thrown away as solid waste or recycled (e.g., paint can made of plastics that is empty with dried paint in the bottom can be placed in your curbside recycling barrel).

  • Chemical Cleaners
  • Brake /Transmission Fluid
  • Pesticides
  • Anti-Freeze
  • Fertilizers
  • Gasoline or Diesel fuel
  • Pool Supplies
  • Propane Tanks
  • Electronic Waste
  • Sharps Containers
  • Old/expired medications (non-narcotic)
  • Batteries

Wastes Not Accepted:

  • Business Wastes
  • Radioactive wastes
  • Explosives
  • Asbestos
  • Narcotic or controlled medications
  • Tires
  • Large appliances (e.g. refrigerators, dryers)
