Healthy Redlands Walking Program works toward 10,000 steps

Adults and children are invited to have fun, meet people and improve their fitness through the Healthy Redlands Summer Walking Program.

The Healthy Redlands Summer Walking Program is an 8-week step club meant to promote healthy lifestyles for adults and children during the summer. Participants can come and walk at their own time and pace around the perimeters of Sylvan Park.

The program is designed to help participants gradually work toward a goal of walking 10,000 steps each Saturday. Pedometers will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to track participants’ steps, and are to be returned at the end of each walk.

Walks are scheduled at Sylvan Park every Saturday, from 8 to 11 a.m., through Aug. 6. There will be no walk scheduled on Saturday, July 2.

There is no cost to participate. Check in is at the table located near the Rose Garden off of Chapel Street. Bottled water and snacks will be provided.
