Redlands Senior Center hosts Dessert and Dialogue series

Join the Redlands Senior Center’s Dessert and Dialogue series for interesting and enlightening presentations and delicious dessert.

At noon Monday, July 18, explore the benefits of Medicare counseling, retiree health plans and supplemental insurance with Jeanne Takeda-Ruiz a HICAP Outreach and Education Specialist.

At noon Monday, Aug. 1, Judy Lewis from Redlands Community Hospital will speak about Home Health, Advance Illness Management and Hospice Care. Topics she will cover include what hospice is, who is eligible, the benefits and when to start looking for hospice care.

On Monday, Aug. 15, Bob Fraley will talk about his experience as a performer, and audience member, and will give a short history of the Penny University Folk Music Theater in San Bernardino in the ‘60s and ‘70s. Along with his friend, Michael Pastucha, they will perform some folk songs from the days of Penny University.

Fraley is a retired school teacher from the Fontana Unified School District. He has been performing folk music for the past 50 years. Bob first performed at the age of 13 at the Penny University and performed there at least a couple times a year until the Penny closed its doors.

The Redlands Community Senior Center holds Dessert and Dialogue speakers at noon on the first and third Monday of every month. The event and desserts are free.
