Two suspects arrested for homicide in shooting death

Jan. 17, 2018 – Police arrested two suspects in the shooting death of a 47-year-old Redlands man Sunday evening.

David Alex Gonzales, 18, of Redlands was arrested shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16. Jasmine Gonzalez, 18, of Redlands, was arrested at about 2 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17. Both are charged with murder and conspiracy.

Police are searching for a third suspect.

Detectives determined that Jasmine Gonzalez arranged a meeting between the victim, 47-year-old Santos Bonilla, David Gonzales and another man at Sylvan Park where Bonilla was shot multiple times.

Jasmine Gonzalez drove Bonilla to the emergency room at Redlands Community Hospital after the shooting. Staff at the hospital contacted police, but Gonzalez left before officers arrived.

Bonilla was treated at RCH before being transported by ambulance to the nearest trauma center at Loma Linda University Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

David Gonzales and Jasmine Gonzalez were both transported to West Valley Detention Center. David Gonzales is being held without bail. Jasmine Gonzalez is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
