Two arrested in connection with pair of armed robberies

Redlands Police arrested two people Monday, March 30, in connection with two armed robberies.

On Sunday afternoon, March 22, an ARCO gas station at 902 Orange St. was robbed at gunpoint by a suspect wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a white surgical mask.

Five days later, on Friday, March 27, a suspect wearing the same clothing robbed a 7-Eleven store at 1256 Orange St. The robber escaped in a vehicle occupied by another two people also wearing hooded sweatshirts and white surgical masks.

On Monday, Redlands Police detectives and members of the Special Enforcement Team served a search warrant on a house in the 800 block of East Brockton Avenue in connection with the robberies.

Police arrested 18-year-old Marcus Taylor and a 16-year-old male, both of Redlands. Police recovered two loaded firearms, stolen property and clothing matching the clothing worn during the robbery.

Both suspects were arrested for robbery and conspiracy. Taylor was transported to Central Detention Center in San Bernardino, where he is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. The juvenile was transported to Juvenile Hall.
