Suspension of utility late charges, penalties extended 60 days

Article

On Thursday, April 30, City Manager Charlie Duggan, acting in his capacity as the City of Redlands Emergency Services Director, extended suspension of late charges and penalties and disconnection of water service to customers, due to late payments, for an additional 60 days.

On March 17, the City Council approved a resolution providing relief to the City’s utility customers, in consideration of state stay-at-home orders, through April 30, with provisions for the City Manager to extend the order up to 90 days. Today’s order extends the resolution through June 30, 2020.

Utility bills will continue to be generated and due on their regular due date, however, late fees will not accrue on overdue bills and water service will not be disconnected due to late payments while the City Council resolution remains in effect.
