Ribbon cutting to celebrate completion of portion of Zanja Trail
The City of Redlands will celebrate the completion of a significant section of the historic Zanja Trail, stretching from Church Street to 7th Street. To commemorate this milestone, the City invites the community to a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2. The event will be held near the new trail section, located just off 9th Street.
This new segment of the Zanja Trail not only enhances the walkability of Redlands but also underscores the City’s ongoing commitment to preserving and celebrating its rich history. The trail follows the path of the historic Zanja waterway, which was originally constructed in the early 1800s to bring water from Mill Creek to the surrounding area.
Today, the Zanja Trail serves as both a recreational space for residents and a living reminder of Redlands’ heritage. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will feature remarks from City officials and members of the community. Attendees can be among the first to explore the new trail section.
Residents, local organizations, and history enthusiasts are encouraged to join the celebration.
