Motorcyclist killed in collision with automobile

Jan. 25, 2018 – A 24-year-old Redlands man was killed Thursday morning when the motorcycle he was operating struck another vehicle.

The motorcyclist was traveling north on Iowa Street near Barton Road shortly before 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, when he collided with a Toyota Corolla, driven by a 27-year-old Corona man, who was making a left turn. Investigators believe the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed, contributing to the collision.

Redlands Fire Department paramedics treated the victim before he was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after 8:30 a.m.

The driver of the Toyota was not injured.

The accident is under investigation. There was no indication of drugs or alcohol in the driver of the Toyota. Results on the motorcyclist are pending a coroner’s autopsy.
