The City Council invites members of the public to apply for a vacant position on the current Utilities Advisory Committee (UAC) for a Water and Wastewater Rate Study to fulfill the remainder of a two-year term which ends May 7, 2021. The City Council anticipates appointing the successful candidate at their Nov. 17 meeting.

The purpose of the UAC is to review and recommend water and wastewater rates to the City Council. The UAC is comprised of City water or wastewater customers. Elected officials and City employees may not apply. In accord with the City’s Municipal Code, UAC members each serve a two-year term.

The study, which began in May 2019, was paused earlier this year. Staff anticipates meetings to resume in December via Zoom and in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines. The UAC is tentatively scheduled to meet on the following Thursdays: Dec. 3, Dec. 17, and Jan. 7 at 6 p.m. Applicants would need to be available to meet on these dates and on Thursdays through May 6.

Anyone interested in serving on the committee may visit the City’s website at www.cityofredlands.org/UACapplication or call Jane Weathers for an application at (909) 798-7698, extension 4145. The deadline to submit is Friday, Nov. 6.
