“Celebrating California’s Rancho Heritage” will be the theme at the seventh annual Library Days at the A.K. Smiley Library in Redlands from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19.

Made possible by the financial support of a generous donor, the event is designed to attract both longtime supporters and new or lapsed patrons into checking out what the Smiley Library has to offer. This year’s version is highlighted by a concert by Mariachi Corona de Angeles in Smiley Park at noon, as well as a performance by St. Mary’s Ballet Folklorico in the Contemporary Club at 1 p.m.

A complimentary Mexican meal from the Taco Lady and paletes and mangonadas from Nicho’s will be provided starting at noon.

Historians Jim and Tish Sandos will deliver a presentation about Music and the Missions at 10:30 a.m. in the library’s Assembly Room and the Heritage Room will have a selection of their rare material from early California on display. In addition there will be face painting as well as fun and games for children in the park beginning at 10 a.m.

The library is located at 125 W. Vine St. in Redlands. For further information check the library’s website www.akspl.org or call 909 798-7565.
