Article

Nov. 14, 2017 – Learn about the Inland Empire Resource Conservation District with guest speaker Jasmine Orozco at the Redlands Community Senior Center’s Dessert and Dialogue program beginning at 12:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20.

Orozco will discuss the purpose of the Inland Empire Resource Conservation District and promote the understanding that the quality of the environment determines the quality of life. The IERCD is a public agency, headquartered in the City of Redlands and focusing on open space preservation, wildland rehabilitation and education and outreach to residents within 1,300 square miles of northwestern Riverside and southwestern San Bernardino counties.

In cooperation with landowners, local, state and federal agencies, the agricultural community, environmental and community groups, the IERCD promotes good stewardship of our soil, water and other natural resources. Orozco will also share some of the strong education programs that will encourage today’s youth to accept the responsibility of conserving our natural resources for tomorrow’s generations.

Dessert and Dialogue is a free program open to the public that takes place after the senior nutritional lunch program at the Redlands Community Senior Center. Hot meals are served Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The hot meals are available to all adults. A donation of $3 is suggested for those 60 or older, and guests under 60 may enjoy lunch for $6.
