Highland teen arrested after firing gun at home

April 11, 2018 – A 17-year-old Highland boy was arrested early Wednesday, April 11, for discharging a weapon at an inhabited residence and making criminal threats after he fired a round from a semi-automatic handgun at a home in the 1500 block of Columbia Street.

The teen had been involved in a fight with another juvenile at Texonia Park earlier. Following the fight he sent threats over a social media app threatening to shoot up the other juvenile’s house.

At about 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, the teen was seen firing a round from a handgun at the home before driving away. No one was injured.

Redlands Police located the suspect shortly after midnight Wednesday at his home in Highland. The teen confessed to firing at the home. He was booked into Juvenile Hall.
