Fourth man arrested for murder in stabbing death of man

Sept. 20, 2017 – A fourth man was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 19, in the stabbing death of Kyle Williams, who was killed following an altercation a week earlier on East Sun Avenue between Alta and Orange streets.

Police arrested 49-year-old Raul David Lara, of Rialto, without incident in the 1000 block of West Congress Street in San Bernardino at about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.

On Sept. 13, detectives arrested 57-year-old Richard Yanez; 56-year-old Lucas Jack Gonzalez; and 43-year-old Marty Kruger Olvera, all of Redlands. Additional investigation led to identification of Lara as a suspect. All four men are charged with murder. Each also faces additional charges as members of a criminal street gang.

Redlands Police and Paramedics responded to the call of a man down near the intersection of Sun and Orange at about 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12. The victim, 31-year-old Kyle Aaron Williams, was treated by paramedics on scene and transported to a local hospital where he later died. Investigators believe Williams was stabbed following an altercation.

The stabbing death is the first criminal homicide in Redlands in nearly two years, since November 2015.
