Disaster Council to hold quarterly meeting on Oct. 23

Oct. 17, 2017 – The next quarterly meeting of the City of Redlands Disaster Council will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, in the Redlands City Council Chambers. The meeting is open to the public.

The guest speaker will be Vance Taylor, chief of the Office of Access and Functional Needs from the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services.

The Office of Access and Functional Needs ensures the needs of individuals with disabilities and those with access and functional needs are identified before, during and after a disaster, and integrates disability needs and resources into emergency management systems.

The meeting will also include reports by Carrie Cruz from the San Bernardino County Fire Department/Operational Area/Office of Emergency Services; Ashley Congjuico, San Bernardino County Public Health Department; and Redlands Emergency Services Manager Fay Glass on the Community Emergency Response Team and the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan.

The City Disaster Council develops and recommends emergency and mutual aid plans and agreements for consideration and possible adoption by the Redlands City Council. Meetings are held quarterly. The Redlands City Council Chambers are at 35 Cajon St., Suite 2.
