Community Clean-up Day planned for City residents

The City of Redlands Facilities and Community Services Department will hold a Community Cleanup Day at the City landfill, 2151 Nevada St., from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 31.

In an effort to address a backlog of requests for bulky item disposal as a result of public health restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City will host the cleanup event for local residents.

Vehicles are limited to cars, pickups, small trailers no larger than 4 feet by 6 feet, station wagons and SUVs. Large trailers, enclosed storage trucks, including rental trucks, and vehicles with company logos will be turned away.

Proof of residency in the form of a City of Redlands utility bill and/or California ID with a City of Redlands address will be required.

Acceptable items include bagged refuse (no loose items); bulky items, including furniture and appliances; up to nine tires (tires must be off the rim and no larger than a 24-inch rim; no tractor tires; bundled tree limps, cut to four feet or less.

Items that will not be accepted include business waste, including tires, packaging or items created or used in the operation of a business; construction, demolition or remodeling waste, including tile, roofing, concrete, drywall, lumber, cabinets, flooring and fixtures; household hazardous waste, including paint, oil, solvents, chemicals, anti-freeze, etc.; E-waste, such as computers, cell phones, TVs, monitors and printers; batteries and fluorescent bulbs; loose items, dirt, rocks, stumps, car parts, manure, propane tanks or enclosed cylinders.

Be prepared to unload your vehicle. Please ensure that all children and pets remain in the vehicle.

Household hazardous waste will not be accepted at this event. City of Redlands residents may dispose of household hazardous waste, E-waste and sharps at the City’s HHW drop-off location at the Redlands City Yard, 500 Kansas St. at Park Avenue, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturdays.
