City seeks displays for ‘Christmas at the Park’ drive-thru

Article

The City of Redlands is still seeking local businesses, nonprofits and residents interested in creating displays for this year’s Christmas in the Park drive-thru event scheduled Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Redlands Sports Park in partnership with the Redlands Noon Kiwanis.

Nearly 2,000 people have registered to attend the three-hour, family-friendly, drive-through experience, keeping the fun traditions and excitement of the annual Christmas Parade alive in a safe and engaging way.

Beginning at 5 p.m. Dec. 19, the parking lot at the Redlands Sports Complex on Dearborn Street north of San Bernardino Avenue will be transformed into a drive-thru Christmas wonderland as families experience the sights and sounds of the holidays from the safety of their vehicles.

Attendance for the event is limited to 500 vehicles and registration is closed. Only registered vehicles may attend.

Displays will be set up at the Redlands Sports Park, 1790 Dearborn St. There is no entry fee to participate in the display, which is open to all ages, individuals, families, clubs, nonprofits and businesses.

Please visit https://www.cityofredlands.org/christmas for additional information about creating your own display or to fill out an entry form.

In compliance with State and County public health requirements, the City will host the drive-thru event in lieu of the downtown Christmas Parade, tree lighting ceremony and the annual Christmas Block Party.
