City planning ‘Christmas at the Park’ drive-through event

Article

The annual Redlands Christmas Parade will return this year, as a drive-through interactive winter wonderland, Saturday, Dec. 19. Experience the magic once again as the City of Redlands presents this adapted Redlands holiday tradition in partnership with the Redlands Noon Kiwanis.

The all-ages, family-friendly, drive-through experience will keep the fun traditions and excitement of the annual Christmas Parade alive in a safe and engaging way. Beginning at 5 p.m. Dec. 19, the parking lot at the Redlands Sports Complex on Dearborn Street north of San Bernardino Avenue will be transformed into a drive-through Christmas experience. While families remain in their vehicles, they will experience the sights and sounds of the holidays with vehicles and parking spaces decorated for the occasion. Pre-registration is required to attend.

City staff are currently requesting residents, nonprofits and businesses interested in contributing a float or display to submit an application to the City. Displays will be set up at the Redlands Sports Park, 1790 Dearborn St. There is no entry fee to participate in the display, which is open to all ages, individuals, families, clubs, nonprofits and businesses.

Please visit https://www.cityofredlands.org/christmas for additional information about creating your own display or to fill out an entry form. Pre-registration to view the event will open on Nov. 23.

In compliance with State and County public health requirements, the City will host the drive-through event in lieu of the downtown Christmas Parade, tree lighting ceremony and the annual Christmas Block Party.
