Clement GardenThe City of Redlands operates three separate Community Gardens within the City. The three garden plots are the Clement Community Garden located adjacent to Clement Middle School, Smiley Community Garden adjacent to Smiley Elementary School, and Lugonia Community Garden located east of Texas Street between Lugonia and Pennsylvania avenues.

 

The Community Gardens are open to residents of the City of Redlands.  Plots may used to grow vegetables, herbs, and flowers.  The City provides the water, but gardeners provide their own hoses.  The gardens are open during daylight hours. The garden is open from dawn to dusk 7 days a week.

 

Clement Garden

Individuals who would like to lease a garden plot must sign up at the Redlands Community Senior Center between the hours of 8:30 am - 11:30am Monday - Friday. Availability of garden plots may be limited. Garden plots are assigned on a "first come, first served" basis. In the event that all garden plots are in use, a waiting list will be maintained.

Garden Sizes and Fees 

1)         Clement Garden:

            9 Plots  20’ x 50’ to 31’x 32”

            $28.00 per year

2)         Smiley Garden:

            22 plots 20’ x 20’

            $16.00 per year

 

3)         Lugonia Garden:

            55 plots  17.5’ x 40’ Clement Garden

            $32.00 per year

Garden Plot rental fees are due January 15 of every calendar.  The City of Redlands Community Gardens is a fulfilling, inexpensive way to grow organic fruits and vegetables. It is also a relaxing place to socialize with other residents who enjoy similar activities.

    • Established in 1988, Redlands Market Night has established itself as one of the most successful certified farmers markets in Southern California! Vendors vie to participate in the event that has attracted thousands of weekly visitors since its inception. Visitors are welcomed into an inviting atmosphere complete with lighted trees, brick sidewalks, historic buildings, and great musical entertainment. Crowds are pleasantly surrounded by over 150 food and merchandise booths, not to mention the downtown shopkeepers, every Thursday night.

    • The City’s successful Saturday Morning Certified Farmers Market brings fresh local produce to historic downtown Redlands every Saturday.

      The Saturday Morning Certified Farmers’ Market began June 6, 2009, bringing local growers to the City parking lot south of Redlands Boulevard between Fifth and Sixth streets near Ed Hales Park. The market operates from 8 to 11 a.m. every Saturday, excluding holiday weekends.
