Redlands Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a homicide that occurred early Saturday morning in the 1200 block of Webster Street.
Police arrested 21-year-old Gilbert Phillip Moreno, of Redlands, less than 24 hours after the 21-year-old victim was found dead early Saturday.
Police received a call of an unknown disturbance in the 1200 block of Webster shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20. When officers arrived they discovered the 21-year-old man lying on the sidewalk. Redlands paramedics responded and pronounced him dead at the scene.
The name of the victim and cause of death are being withheld pending release of that information from the San Bernardino County Coroner's Office.
Investigators quickly identified Moreno as the suspect and began a search for him. Officers of the department's Multiple Enforcement Team located Moreno at a residence in the 3300 block of North Mountain Avenue in San Bernardino at about 7:40 p.m. Saturday. He was arrested without incident. Investigators have not released a motive for the murder.
Moreno was arrested on suspicion of murder and transported to West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.
