Public Benefit Resource Committee special meeting scheduled
The Public Benefits Resource Committee, charged with providing recommendations to the City Council on the use of development impact fees and proceeds from the sale of open space, has scheduled a special meeting for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, in the City Council Conference Room on the second floor of City Hall, 35 Cajon St. The committee continues to seek public input prior to making its recommendations to the Council.
The Public Benefit Resource Committee was appointed following City Council action on June 5. The 11-member committee consists of representatives from the Parks and Recreation Commission, Planning Commission, Citrus Commission, conservation community, development community and the Redlands Unified School District as well as five members appointed by individual City Council members.
The group began meeting in July to determine a framework for coordinating and guiding the use of development impact fees and other funds intended for park and open space acquisition and development, including funds received from the sale of land purchased with open space funds.
The Committee has provided an online survey on the City of Redlands website to solicit public input. The survey is available at www.cityofredlands.org/pbrcsurvey. The public is also invited to attend committee meetings and offer public comment.
