SUBJECT: ACCEPT THE FUNDING FOR THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON GRANT AND APPROVE THE ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION AND AUTHORIZATION TO PURCHASE SUPPLIES AND PROVIDE FUNDING FOR A BUS DRIVER IN ORDER TO PROVIDE A COOL CENTER FOR SENIOR CITIZENS

MOTION:  I move to enter into the agreement between Southern California Edison Company and authorize the Mayor to execute the Agreement; and, to approve the additional appropriation of $14,000.00 authorizing the purchase of supplies and provision for the electricity costs to be reimbursed by the grant.

MOTION: I move to proclaim June 21, 2007 as “GO SKATEBOARDING DAY,” acknowledging the involvement of those citizens who already skateboard as a recreational activity, urging all citizens to learn more about skateboarding and about how they can, as individuals, help future generations to “Go Skateboarding and Have Fun!”

SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF FEE WAIVER FOR BUILDING A GENERATION

MOTION:  I move to approve the waiver of field use rental fees for Building-A-Generation’s Community Ties Softball Tournament for the use of the Clement Softball Fields on September 15, 2007.   

Building-A-Generation requests the use of Clement Middle School Softball Fields for the purpose of conducting a community softball fundraising tournament with proceeds going towards children and youth service programs.  They will be fully responsible for the fields while in use.

SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF THE CLICK IT OR TICKET PROGRAM GRANT PROJECT #CT073604 FOR LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES WITH FUNDING FROM THE CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY AND AUTHORIZATION OF AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $24,795.20.

MOTION:   I move to accept the Click It Or Ticket Program Grant Project #CT073604 for Local Law Enforcement Agencies and authorize an additional appropriation in the amount of $24,795.20.

SUBJECT: Upgrade to Redlands Cable Television facilities and programming.

MOTIONS:  

  1.  I move that the City Council and Agency Board approve the proposed upgrade, funding plan and additional appropriations for the Redlands Cable Television facilities and programming.
  2.  I move that the City Council approve Resolution No.6951 authorizing the execution and delivery of a lease with option to purchase, with Municipal Finance Corporation, for he purchase of various audio visual equipment for the City's PEG Channel.
  3. I move that the City Council authorize a purchase order with Pacific Video for certain equipment.
  4. I move that the Agency Board authorize staff to negotiate a professional service agreementwith Joey Whittemore for production services, subject to the approval of the City Manager and City Attorney, and authorize the chairman to execute such an agreement.

Crowds are pleasantly surrounded by over 150 food and merchandise booths, not to mention the downtown shopkeepers, every Thursday night.
