The City Council will resume their popular Coffee With the Council meetings with the first meeting of 2017 this Saturday, March 11, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Redlands Community Center, 111 W. Lugonia Ave. Mayor Pro Tem Paul Barich and Council Member Eddie Tejeda will be in attendance.

Coffee With the Council was begun in February 2011 as part of the City’s continuing efforts to increase interaction with residents and promote transparency in City affairs.

The informal meetings are scheduled quarterly from 9 to 10:30 a.m. as a way for residents to ask questions or share concerns outside the formal setting of a City Council meeting. The remaining Coffee With the Council meetings will be held at the following locations:

  • June 10 - Stell Coffee & Tea Company, 1580 Barton Road, Suite A;
  • Sept. 9 - Cuca’s Mexican Food, 1752 E. Lugonia Ave.;
  • Dec. 9 - Olive Avenue Market, 530 W. Olive Ave

In addition, in April Council members will begin a new series of Walking With the Council meetings held along several of the City’s walking trails. The schedule for Walking With the Council is below:

  • April 8 – Orange Blossom Trail, beginning at the trail and Grove Street;
  • May 13 – Orange Blossom Trail, beginning at the trail and Redlands Boulevard, near California Street. Parking is available in the Walmart/Food for Less parking lot on the north side of Redlands Boulevard;
  • July 8 – Orange Blossom Trail, beginning at the railroad trestle on the Orange Blossom Trail near Center/Texas Street and Redlands Boulevard;
  • Oct. 14 – Santa Ana River Trail (future alignment), starting at Cave Street and Riverview Drive

Council members rotate attendance for both Coffee With the Council and Walking With the Council, with no more than two members at each meeting.
