April 11, 2017 - The Redlands Fire Department responded Monday night to a residential structure fire at a vacant home undergoing renovations. No injuries were reported.

Shortly before midnight Monday, April 10, firefighters responded to reports of a structure fire in the 800 block of High Street. Arriving units found power lines arcing in front of the structure. Because of the energized electrical hazard, firefighters were required to access the building from adjacent properties. It took firefighters approximately 30 minutes to knock down the blaze.

Southern California Edison was able to de-energize the lines shortly after 1 a.m., allowing easier access to the structure.

Damage to the structure is estimated at $100,000, with another $5,000 in contents lost. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
