Welcome to the City of Redlands !

The City of Redlands employs nearly 500 full and part-time employees in a variety of job classifications. Our employees are committed to delivering the highest quality of service to the local community in areas of law enforcement, fire, medical and emergency management, recreation, library services, community development, redevelopment, municipal utilities and engineering, legal and financial record keeping, road maintenance, waste management and much more!

 

Department:

The Human Resources department is a unique and invaluable unit; comprised of HR professionals who stand apart from the crowd, take chances, buck trends, defy conventions, take the road less traveled and produce more distinctive and sustainable results.  We strive to consistently employ “HR Best Practices” and excellence in customer service, during the course and scope of our daily operations therefore leading by example.

Mission Statement:

As integral participants of the City of Redlands team, the Human Resources staff develops and implements sustainable processes while evaluating current programs and policies for efficiency and continued effectiveness.

The core City function is to provide service to residents and visitors.  Human Resources’ contribution to this function is making available to the employees the tools necessary for their success which in turn contributes directly to the success of the City by providing excellent quality service to the community at all levels.  This is carried out by the implementation of a variety of Human Resources programs that fall in line with the “Redlands City Values” adopted by the City Council.

    • Established in 1988, Redlands Market Night has established itself as one of the most successful certified farmers markets in Southern California! Vendors vie to participate in the event that has attracted thousands of weekly visitors since its inception. Visitors are welcomed into an inviting atmosphere complete with lighted trees, brick sidewalks, historic buildings, and great musical entertainment. Crowds are pleasantly surrounded by over 150 food and merchandise booths, not to mention the downtown shopkeepers, every Thursday night.

    • The City’s successful Saturday Morning Certified Farmers Market brings fresh local produce to historic downtown Redlands every Saturday.

      The Saturday Morning Certified Farmers’ Market began June 6, 2009, bringing local growers to the City parking lot south of Redlands Boulevard between Fifth and Sixth streets near Ed Hales Park. The market operates from 8 to 11 a.m. every Saturday, excluding holiday weekends.

  2. Household Hazardous Waste collection
    • Start time: 09:30am
    • End date: Saturday, May 26th

    • During operating hours, residents can dispose of household materials including, outdated prescription medication (with the exception of controlled substances), outdated pet prescription medication, paint products, chemical cleaners, pesticides, fertilizers, hobby/pool supplies, automotive oil, filters, brake fluid, transmission fluid, anti-freeze, gasoline, and propane tanks.
