Paving activities scheduled on San Timoteo Canyon Road
Posted on 05/24/2017

May 24, 2017 - As part of the PARIS 2015 Resurfacing Project, cold milling, crack sealing and paving activities have begun on San Timoteo Canyon Road between Barton Road and the train tracks just east of Fern Avenue.

In order to minimize interruptions to residents and businesses in the area the contractor will close the road to through traffic on Thursday, May 25, to crack seal the street prior to paving on Friday, June 2.

Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen conditions. Full closure of the street to through traffic allows the contractor to complete both the crack sealing and paving of the road in one day, limiting the impact to residents, businesses and commuters.

The project was designed and will be managed by the City’s Municipal Utilities and Engineering Department. The road work is part of the City’s comprehensive street resurfacing program, the Pavement Management Program (PMP), adopted by the City Council in March 2012, and the Pavement Accelerated Repair Implementation Strategy (PARIS), approved by the City Council in September 2012. The PMP and PARIS together form a comprehensive infrastructure approach to address the City’s surface street rehabilitation, repair and maintenance needs.
