Commission to consider solid waste rate adjustments April 17

April 13, 2017 - The Municipal Utilities/Public Works Commission will hold a special meeting at 4 p.m. Monday, April 17, to consider a recommendation on proposed solid waste rates. The meeting will be held in the City Council Chambers at 35 Cajon St., Suite 2.

The commission will consider recommendations by consultant R3 Consultant Group, Inc., for solid waste rate adjustments over three years of 12 percent the first year, 12 percent in year two and 5 percent in the third year.

The commission has held three meetings since Feb. 6 to discuss the need for rate adjustments. City staff have also held six public outreach meetings to discuss the rate adjustments and seek public input.

The Municipal Utilities/Public Works Commission’s recommendation will be sent to the City Council for consideration.

Municipal Utilities/Public Works Commission meetings are open to the public and public comment is welcome.
