Three arrested following armed robbery at gas station

April 12, 2017 - Three people were arrested Tuesday following an armed robbery at a gas station convenience store.

Redlands Police received a report of the robbery at the Shell station at 941 California Street shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday, April 11. Two men entered the store. As one of them brandished a handgun, they jumped the counter and demanded cash from the register.

Police were able to track their movements to an apartment complex in the 800 block of Washington Street in Colton. Officers located two men in the process of changing their clothes in a parking stall at the complex. A third person, later identified as the getaway driver was also located. All three were taken into custody.

Police recovered cash, clothing, a revolver and additional evidence in the suspect’s car.

Arrested were 18-year-old Kai Dovon Tongi, of Chino Hills; 19-year-old Tremayne Marquis Turner, of Fontana; and 25-year-old Marlo Deandre Johnson. The suspects were booked at Central Detention Center in San Bernardino on charges of armed robbery and conspiracy.
