City, SCORE to host workshop ‘Understanding Your Financials’

The City of Redlands Development Services Department and the Inland Empire chapter of SCORE will co-host a workshop for those just starting a business or who have been in business for many years from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, in the Redlands City Council Chambers, 35 Cajon St.

Financial statements are the “report cards” for your business. In order to manage your business successfully, the ability to interpret the data and understand their meaning is imperative to success. This workshop will help you understand the terms used in financial reporting, how to classify data correctly, and then how to use the information to maintain or grow your business. Basic accounting terms, interaction between the income statement and the balance sheet, the importance of accuracy and how to maximize effectiveness will also be covered. 

Featured presenter will be Diana Cescolini. Ms. Cescolini has spent more than 25 years in the electronics industry with a major focus on government contracting with the Department of Defense. Currently she is a Professor of Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Business and Management.
