Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program

CDBG imageThis Federally funding program is administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The program allocates funds to eligible cities and counties throughout the nation to assist low and moderate-income households and neighborhoods. The national objectives of the program are to provide decent housing, create suitable living environments and expand economic opportunities for low and moderate-income people.


Effective July 1, 2015, the City of Redlands will no longer participate in the CDBG program as an Entitlement City. The City will become a Participating Jurisdiction in the County of San Bernardino CDBG and HOME Consortium. Program administration will be provided by the County's Department of of Community Development and Housing with input from the City.

The City encourages public involvement in the planning, implementation, and assessment of CDBG funds, especially from those living in low and moderate-income neighborhoods.

The County of San Bernardino is accepting applications for the 2018-2019 CDBG program year.   Applications are due prior to 4:00 pm on Friday, December 8, 2017.  Late applications will not be evaluated.
